The studio

Nook Collective Co. began in Kolkata as a small workshop making one-off pieces for friends' homes. What started as a single curved sofa turned into a practice: we design a room's furniture as a set, not as a catalogue order.

Everything we make is built in our own workshop — hardwood frames, hand-finished stone tops, and upholstery done in-house. We work in a narrow material palette on purpose: oak, ash, travertine, boucle and blackened steel.

How we work

• Project first. We measure the room, understand how it's used, and design the pieces to that plan — which is why our site is organised by project, not by SKU.
• Multi-utility by default. A study table that reads as a console. A round table that seats six or holds a lobby arrangement. Fewer pieces, more use.
• Made to last. Kiln-dried hardwood, replaceable upholstery, and finishes that can be refreshed years later.
